Terms of Use
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Conditions for using Polaris, including third-party services, content rights and paid features.
1. Scope and Independent Status
These Terms describe use of the Polaris website, browser extension and any separately offered paid features provided by the independent developer identified on this website. The Privacy Policy explains data handling. Polaris is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or the operators of other supported platforms. Their names and trademarks identify compatible services and remain the property of their respective owners.
2. Permitted Use and Content Rights
Use Polaris only with accounts and content you are authorized to access. You are responsible for ensuring that your reading, copying, exporting and sharing comply with applicable law, confidentiality obligations, third-party rights and the applicable AI provider's terms. Do not use Polaris to access another person's account without authorization, bypass access controls or service restrictions, evade rate limits, disrupt a service, or unlawfully disclose confidential or personal information.
Using Polaris does not transfer your conversation content to the developer or give you additional rights in that content. You control any copies, downloads, sharing and backups you create.
3. Third-Party Platforms and Access
Polaris adds navigation, reading, search, copying and export tools to supported websites. Complete ChatGPT and Gemini reading can use your existing website session to request history for the current conversation; this is not represented as an official developer API integration. Browser permission or user consent to Polaris does not itself constitute permission from the platform for a particular access method.
Your relationship with each AI provider remains governed by that provider's applicable terms and policies, including region-, account- and feature-specific conditions. See, for example, OpenAI's Terms of Use and Google's Terms of Service. These Terms do not amend those agreements or authorize prohibited access.
OpenAI's terms include restrictions on automated or programmatic extraction of data or output and on bypassing protective measures or service limits. User-visible content, content ownership, browser permission and local processing do not by themselves authorize an access method. We may restrict, suspend or discontinue affected integrations in response to provider requirements or access changes, subject to mandatory rights and binding purchase commitments.
Polaris currently offers neither Sign in with ChatGPT nor ChatGPT plan usage for inference. OpenAI's plan usage authorization does not grant access to ChatGPT conversations. Its inference rules require that particular flow to use POST https://api.openai.com/v1/responses, rather than ChatGPT's backend-api, with store: false and stream: true. These requirements concern that inference flow and do not authorize website-history retrieval. Before offering any future plan-usage feature, we would need the applicable provider access, user authorization and updated data-handling disclosures; OpenAI currently directs paid or remotely hosted apps to request access before offering it. A Polaris license does not confer that access.
4. Software, Intellectual Property and Licenses
Rights in Polaris's original code, website materials and branding belong to their respective rights holders. Where an open-source or third-party license accompanies code, fonts or other assets, that license governs the rights it grants; these Terms do not withdraw or narrow those grants. Third-party trademarks are not licensed for use that falsely implies endorsement.
Any purchased entitlement applies only to the Polaris features and license scope described at purchase. It does not include an AI provider subscription, additional model usage, ownership of third-party content or permission to use a provider's service outside its terms.
5. Paid Features, Trials and Support
Where paid features or trials are available, the extension and checkout show the applicable price, currency, taxes, offer deadline and license scope before purchase. A one-time purchase is not a recurring subscription. General website information does not establish individual trial or discount eligibility, and the website itself does not initialize an extension trial or collect a license payment.
Payment availability and fulfillment depend on the purchase flow actually offered. Contact [email protected] about billing errors, duplicate charges, missing delivery, license recovery or refund requests. The Refund Policy explains the 14-day unactivated-license window and activated-license exceptions. Any applicable mandatory cancellation, refund and consumer rights remain in effect. A voluntary PayPal support payment is separate from a Polaris software-license purchase.
6. Compatibility and Availability
Features depend on third-party website structures, endpoints, policies, account access and service availability. Changes may temporarily or permanently affect compatibility, indexing, navigation or export. Polaris does not control those services or guarantee uninterrupted operation, access to an AI account, or compatibility with every future platform update.
A one-time license does not guarantee that a third-party service or interface will remain available indefinitely. We will describe material changes to Polaris's own features or commercial terms where required and will not use a general compatibility notice to override mandatory rights or commitments made at purchase.
7. Information Quality, Backups and Liability
AI-generated content comes from the relevant platform or author. Polaris does not verify its accuracy, completeness, legality or suitability. Indexes and exports may omit content that has not loaded, unsupported attachments or content changed by the platform. Review important exports and maintain your own backups before relying on them.
To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any express commitments at purchase, Polaris is provided “as is” and “as available”, without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Responsibility for loss, service interruption, third-party account restrictions or other damage is determined by applicable law and any binding agreement. Nothing here excludes or limits liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any applicable protection for fraud, intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
8. Changes and Ending Use
You can stop using the website or disable or uninstall the extension. See the Privacy Policy for retained local caches, downloaded files and license records. These Terms may be updated as functionality, legal requirements or purchase arrangements change. Material changes will be communicated where required; publication of a new version does not remove existing statutory rights or retroactively cancel purchased entitlements.
9. Contact and Applicable Rights
Contact the Polaris developer at [email protected]. These Terms do not select an exclusive foreign court or remove protections that apply under the laws governing your situation. The English and Simplified Chinese versions are intended to describe the same conditions; any discrepancy should be raised with the developer and does not override mandatory law.
