Terms of Use
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Conditions for using Polaris. You are responsible for each AI site's rules. These Terms also cover content rights and paid features.
1. Scope and Independent Status
These Terms allocate responsibility for the Polaris website, browser extension, and any separately offered paid features provided by the independent developer identified on this website. Data handling, and links to provider documents, are in section 9 of the Privacy Policy. Polaris is an unofficial browser tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or an official or approved plugin of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, or the operators of Doubao, Qwen, Kimi, Yuanbao, DeepSeek, Manus, and Xiaohongshu Diandian, or of other supported platforms. Their names and trademarks identify services Polaris can run on and remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms means any of those companies has reviewed, approved, or partnered with Polaris.
2. Your Responsibility, Permitted Use and Content
You accept sole responsibility for complying with the terms of use, acceptable-use rules, and privacy policy of every AI site where you turn Polaris on. That includes ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), Doubao, Qwen, Kimi, Yuanbao, DeepSeek, Manus, and Xiaohongshu Diandian, and any other supported site. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy links the published documents we could find. Polaris does not check your account rights, an employer or client rule, or whether a provider currently allows an extension.
You represent that you will use Polaris only with accounts and content you are authorized to access. You will not use it to scrape, copy, or export conversation content for redistribution, to train or improve a competing model, or for resale. Do not use Polaris to access another person's account without authorization, bypass access controls or service restrictions, evade rate limits, disrupt a service, or unlawfully disclose confidential or personal information.
Copying, exporting, and sharing run only when you start them, and they are at your risk. That risk includes intellectual property, confidentiality, and employer or client secrets. Using Polaris does not transfer conversation content to the developer or give you additional rights in that content. You control any copies, downloads, sharing, and backups you create. Files you download and text you place on the clipboard can leave the device through software you choose. Polaris does not send that conversation text to its own servers, and the license path in the Privacy Policy does not receive it either.
3. Third-Party Platforms and Access
Polaris adds navigation, reading, search, copying, and export tools by injecting its own interface into a page you already opened. Complete ChatGPT and Gemini reading can use your existing website session to request more of the current conversation. That injection and that same-origin history fetch are not an approved plugin, an authorized page overlay, or an official developer API. A provider may treat them as prohibited automation, an unauthorized plugin or add-on (including rules that name 插件 or 外挂), or a page overlay, even when you can see the messages in the product. Browser permission, or your consent to Polaris, does not itself constitute permission from the platform. Read section 9 of the Privacy Policy before you enable Polaris on a site. These Terms do not amend a provider's agreement or authorize a prohibited access method.
Your relationship with each AI provider remains governed by that provider's terms, acceptable-use rules, and privacy policy, including region-, account-, and feature-specific conditions. See, for example, OpenAI's Terms of Use and Google's Terms of Service, and the fuller list in the Privacy Policy.
OpenAI's terms include restrictions on automated or programmatic extraction of data or output and on bypassing protective measures or service limits. User-visible content, content ownership, browser permission, and local processing do not by themselves authorize an access method. Other providers may impose the same kind of limit. Being allowed to read a prompt or the provider's output in the product does not mean the provider allows programmatic history retrieval.
We may disable, limit, or remove any platform integration without advance notice if a provider objects, its terms change, or we see a technical or legal risk, including a change to the site's interface or access method. There is no guarantee that a supported site will remain compatible or available. That step does not cancel a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, or a binding purchase commitment such as the Refund Policy. A Polaris license is not a promise that a particular AI site will keep working with the extension.
Polaris currently offers neither Sign in with ChatGPT nor ChatGPT plan usage for inference. OpenAI's plan usage authorization does not grant access to ChatGPT conversations. Its inference rules require that particular flow to use POST https://api.openai.com/v1/responses, rather than ChatGPT's backend-api, with store: false and stream: true. These requirements concern that inference flow and do not authorize website-history retrieval. Before offering any future plan-usage feature, we would need the applicable provider access, user authorization and updated data-handling disclosures; OpenAI currently directs paid or remotely hosted apps to request access before offering it. A Polaris license does not confer that access.
4. Software, Intellectual Property and Licenses
Rights in Polaris's original code, website materials and branding belong to their respective rights holders. Where an open-source or third-party license accompanies code, fonts or other assets, that license governs the rights it grants; these Terms do not withdraw or narrow those grants. Third-party trademarks are not licensed for use that falsely implies endorsement.
Any purchased entitlement applies only to the Polaris features and license scope described at purchase. It does not include an AI provider subscription, additional model usage, ownership of third-party content, or permission to use a provider's service outside its terms. A license does not make Polaris an approved plugin and is not a warranty that your use complies with a provider's terms.
5. Paid Features, Trials and Support
Where paid features or trials are available, the extension and checkout show the applicable price, currency, taxes, offer deadline and license scope before purchase. A one-time purchase is not a recurring subscription. General website information does not establish individual trial or discount eligibility, and the website itself does not initialize an extension trial or collect a license payment.
Payment availability and fulfillment depend on the purchase flow actually offered. Contact [email protected] about billing errors, duplicate charges, missing delivery, license recovery or refund requests. The Refund Policy explains the 14-day unactivated-license window and activated-license exceptions. Any applicable mandatory cancellation, refund and consumer rights remain in effect. A voluntary PayPal support payment is separate from a Polaris software-license purchase.
6. Compatibility and Availability
Features depend on third-party website structures, endpoints, policies, account access, and service availability. Changes may temporarily or permanently affect compatibility, indexing, navigation, or export. Polaris does not control those services and does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, access to an AI account, or compatibility with any future platform update. A platform integration may be disabled, limited, or removed as described in section 3, including without advance notice when the reason is a provider objection, a terms change, or technical or legal risk. Chrome Web Store distribution is covered in section 9.
A one-time license does not guarantee that a third-party service or interface will remain available. We will describe material changes to Polaris's own commercial terms where required, and will not use a compatibility notice to override mandatory rights or commitments made at purchase.
7. No Compliance Warranty, Backups and Liability
AI-generated content comes from the relevant platform or author. Polaris does not verify its accuracy, completeness, legality, or suitability. Indexes and exports may omit content that has not loaded, unsupported attachments, or content changed by the platform. Review important exports and keep your own backups before relying on them.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, and subject to any express commitment at purchase, Polaris is provided “as is” and “as available”. There is no warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation, and no warranty of fitness for compliance with any third-party terms, acceptable-use policy, or privacy policy. Local processing and the Chrome Web Store disclosure in the Privacy Policy are not a certification that a provider allows injection, overlays, or complete indexing.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for a provider account restriction or ban, loss of a provider feature, other provider enforcement, loss of conversation data that exists only on your device, or a change to a third-party website. That includes indexes, caches, and exports removed by the browser, the operating system, or the site. The developer is also not liable for how you copy, export, or share conversation content. Where a cap is allowed, liability for a claim about Polaris is limited to the amount you paid the developer for the license connected to that claim. If you have not paid a license fee, liability is limited only as far as applicable law allows a limit. These limits do not cancel the Refund Policy or any other express purchase commitment.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will indemnify the developer against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs to the extent they arise from your violation of an AI provider's terms, or from unlawful copying, export, sharing, or other use of content obtained through Polaris. The indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by the developer's fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence, or to the extent the law does not allow this indemnity. When it is practical, the developer will tell you about a claim it expects you to cover.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. The caps, disclaimers, indemnity, and “as is” wording in this section apply only to the fullest extent permitted by law. They do not remove protection for fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where the law keeps that protection, or a consumer right that cannot be waived. Section 9 names examples, including EU, UK, and EEA consumer protections and Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
8. Changes and Ending Use
You can stop using the website, turn off complete reading, clear the conversation cache from Preferences, or disable or uninstall the extension. The Privacy Policy describes those choices and what local caches, downloaded files, and license records remain. These Terms may be updated as functionality, legal requirements, or purchase arrangements change. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated where required. Publishing a new version does not remove an existing statutory right or retroactively cancel a purchased entitlement.
9. Local Law, Availability, Age and Contact
If you are a consumer, mandatory protections of your place of habitual residence still apply, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where the law requires that option. Nothing in these Terms takes away a right that cannot be waived where you live. Examples include non-waivable consumer protections in the EU, the UK, and the EEA, guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, and similar mandatory rules elsewhere.
For a question those mandatory rules do not decide, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. That choice follows the location of the developer’s Stripe account. It does not create an exclusive court in the United States or in mainland China. It does not require a consumer to sue only in Hong Kong when the law of the consumer’s residence preserves a local court. A Hong Kong court may hear a dispute that is not reserved to that local court.
Polaris is offered widely through this website and the Chrome Web Store. It may be unavailable or unlawful in some places. You are responsible for whether downloading, using, or exporting the software, and using or exporting conversation content, is lawful where you are. That includes local secrecy and intellectual-property rules.
You represent that you are not on a sanctions list that prohibits you from using this software, and that you will not use Polaris where applicable export or sanctions rules prohibit it. This sentence is not a full sanctions manual.
You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher digital-consent age, including 16 for certain processing, you must meet that higher age. Do not use Polaris if you do not.
Chrome Web Store rules and your browser’s policies are separate from these Terms. Google may remove or limit the extension. The developer may change or withdraw Polaris to meet a store requirement or a regulator’s demand. Doing so is not a statement that the product satisfies every local law.
These Terms are written for users in many countries. They are not a claim that local counsel has reviewed them, and they are not a claim that the developer complies with every law worldwide. Where a limit in these Terms conflicts with a mandatory local right, that local right prevails.
Contact the Polaris developer at [email protected]. The English and Simplified Chinese versions are intended to describe the same conditions. If they differ, neither version is used to remove a mandatory right; tell the developer, and the difference will be read so that the mandatory right stays in place.
